A late 19th century pressed glass figural ointment jar, probably New England. Opaque Dark Amethyst (almost black), pressed in the form of a muzzled bear seated on his haunches; the removable head forms a cover. Circa 1870-1885. Small nicks noted to the rim of the cover and base; the base also has a 1 /8" rim chip. 3 5/8" high overall. ESTIMATE $200-300
