The golden russet inclusion on the stone is skillfully carved out detailing the monkey. The jade shows white-celadon in color, even tone translucent with sporadic golden russet inclusions. Displayed upon carved hardwood stand.
The form of monkey (hou) on top (Shang) of a horse (ma) referred as MaShang FengHou, May you immediately be appointed a high ranking position. The horse (ma) is one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac and symbolizes speed, power and perseverance.
The horse is usually depicted as the bearer of good things.
