Description
Unusual porcelain vase decorated with a repeating floral pattern by Lorinda Epply in 1921. This piece is rare in that the body is black clay which was only used in 1921. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 2545 C, the artist's incised monogram and impressed 7907. Peck indicates in his 2nd book that all black clay pieces were marked with 7914 but this is the second we've seen with 7907. Uncrazed and in excellent original condition. Height is 10 5/8 inches.
