A Pair of Japanese Bronze Vases, each of inverted baluster form with splayed base and raised on five ruyi-head feet, the shoulder with elephant-mask and ring handles, the domed cover with a knop of a bird of prey on a rocky outcrop, inlaid in copper, shibuichi , silver and gilding with sparrows amidst flowering peonies and wisteria, the foot, shoulder and cover with bands of scrolling foliage and stylised flowers, height 50.2cms, Meiji Period (2) Provenance: Pen Moel near Chepstow
