Description
This lot is for a fantastic piece of 1970 World Series Cincinnati Reds versus Baltimore Orioles Original Art. The piece has Sparky Anderson, driving a soap box derby car into a flying Oriole. Next to the Oriole is a 6-5 score, which was the score of game 4 of the 1970 World Series. Below the Sparky Anderson art is a closeup image of Lee May. This piece is an original piece of art by Vic Johnson who was a very well known artist for the Boston Herald Newspaper. This is a pretty large piece of art, measuring 14 inches by 12.5 inches, and is signed by Johnson. Vic Johnson was a longtime Boston sports cartoonist, who gave the Boston Red Sox - in the long interval between their pennants of 1946 and 1967 - the nickname, "The Little Rich Kids." Just a great piece of vintage original baseball art.
