Unusual Cutaway Model of a Calculator Mechanism, early 20th Century
Cross-section of a mechanical printing calculator with nine push-button digits, two readout wheels and rising ten-digit print bar, 8 ½ x 14 x 1 ¾ in. (22 x 36 x 4,5 cm), in presentation case. A complex and ingenious piece of engineering, probably built to demonstrate the developments in calculating to potential customers. Provenance: Tesseract, Hastings-on-Hudson, 2004.
