Louis XV Style Carved Mahogany Bed, early 20th c., the headboard with an intricately carved leaf and scroll crest over a pierced scrolled panel flanked by leaf carved stiles, to scalloped rails and a serpentine footboard with scrolled posts, on cabriole legs joined by a serpentine skirt, H.- 70 1/2 in., Int. W.- 53 in., Int. D.- 80 in.

Condition

Condition consistent with age. An approximate 24 inch horizontal crack in the front of the footboard, neat the left corner. An 1/8 inch gap between the leg and footboard. A cluster of 1 inch dents near the front right corner. Two 1 cm losses to trim on the left rail. Four L-shaped metal fixtures on the rails to hold a mattress. A gorgeous piece.
