Description
Amarna Period, 1353-1336 BC. A glazed composition amuletic pendant of a bunch of grapes with suspension loop finials. Cf. Andrews, C. Amulets of Ancient Egypt, London, 1994, plate 65(j"). 0.29 grams, 18mm (3/4"). From the Foxwell family collection; Mr H G and Miss E Foxwell purchased their collection from the late 1890s until the early 1920s, acquiring from the Forman collection (sold by Sotheby's in 1900) and the McGregor Collection (sold by Sotheby's in 1922) and the Clements collection in 1923 and thence by descent. [No Reserve]
