Description
18th-17th century BC. A carved haematite cylinder seal with a central design of a tree guarded by a pair of lions, ankh and scorpion symbol above, to the right a standing figure in short dress wearing a hat, to the left a standing female in long dress wearing a horned tiara; a column with a winged lion and a pair of sphinx(?) separated with an interlaced design. See Collon, D. First Impressions. Cylinder Seals in the Ancient Near East, London, 2005, p. 53. 5.31 grams, 18mm (3/4"). From a North London collection; formerly in the Rihani family collection, formed 1970-1980s.
