DESCRIPTION: Carved wood architectural element from Pittsburgh with lion's face and florals. PROVENANCE: Either from the Federal Street Station in Pittsburgh (built 1907 and demolished in 1955) or the Post Office on Smithfield Street in Pittsburgh (built in the 1880s and demolished in 1966). Includes framed photograph of gentleman with scavenged architectural elements. MEASUREMENTS: Element: 25" x 23" x 3". Photograph: 5" x 4-3/4". Overall with frame: 10-3/8" x 10-1/4". CONDITION: Minor abrasions, losses, and oxidation to surface consistent with exposure to elements. Minor wear to photograph and frame consistent with age and display.
