CHINESE PAINTED PORCELAIN PLAQUES
Pair of painted porcelain plaques, the first 7 3/4" dia. (sight), an incomplete depiction of four partially-drawn men performing various tasks, which have not been illustrated, on a white background. This work in progress allows one to get some sense of the processes used by the artists when creating these objects. Framed, very good. The second measures 6 3/4" x 9 3/4" (sight), and depicts an old man with a long white beard and a woman in a red robe, observing a crane flying overhead. A few lines of Chinese calligraphy have been executed near the top of the composition. Bears a few hairline cracks and some soiling, else very good.
