Condition
The three-quarter leather cover is very good overall, with no notable stains or fade to the blue leather or pastel-marbled boards. The gilt lettering and gilt with red floral decorations are clean and bright. The spine, with a slight slant, has shallow splits at the top side edges. The connection to the inside is secure, with no looseness front or back. The inside (166 numbered pages), containing books 1 and 2, is also very good, with occasional foxing, mostly to the tissue guards and adjacent areas, but with most pages unstained. The binding is tight throughout, with no loose or missing pages. I've found one shallow edge tear, and no creases. The only writing is the copy number. There are no stamps or other attachments. All the illustrations are unfaded. The accompanying photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions.
