Per it's secondary title "Fairbairn vs. Fairbairn," this text pits two essays the Scottish theologian Rev. Patrick Fairbairn (1805-1874) wrote on the subject of the future of the Jewish people, according to biblical prophecy, 25 years apart: "Future Prospects of the Jews--Restoration to Their Own Land--Universal Conversion to the Faith of Christ" (1839) and "The Prophetical Future of the Jewish People" (1864). The first argues for literal interpretation of biblical prophecies, including those regarding statehood, the latter against. The first essay was published in 1840 by the Presbyterian Board of Publication in "A Course of Lectures on the Jews." The second was published in 1864 by T. and T. Very good. Moderate wear to dust jacket, with small open tears at extremities and small closed tear to top edge of rear panel, no losses. Mild edgewear to binding, slight lean to spine. A few small spots to edges of text block. Binding is sound. Pages are clean and unmarked.
