Here are 4 limited-edition LeRoy Neiman football photo-etchings from original drawings, each signed and numbered in pencil along the lower margin by Neiman. This collection of etchings, titled "The Football Suite," was produced in 1972, and then colored by serigraphy by Neiman in 1992Football has always been one of LeRoy Nieman's favorite subjects. The history of this suite is duly noted in the accompanying documentation sheet: "In 1972, a limited edition of 150 suites of black and white photo-etchings was made from the artist's drawings, numbered 1-150, and signed by the artist in pencil in the bottom margin on the right side. Also produced at that time were 30 Artist's proof suites. In 1992, the artist hand painted one suite, and 125 of the 150 suites were then colored by serigraphy. The other suites remain as black and white photo-etchings. There are no colored Artist's proofs." Each of these ten different etchings was limited to an edition of just 150. Each of the artworks offered here is signed by Neiman and hand numbered "135/150" in the lower left corner. Image area: 7.5 x 8.25 inches. All four are beautifully framed and still sealed.
