Condition
Huge math encyclopedia dedicated to the "science of the calculations" in all its aspects and in all its practical applications, from calculating logarithmic to mercantile arithmetic, the practical geometry to mathematical analysis. The author seems to have borrowed its approach from the vast encyclopedias algebraic and mathematical G. Wallis. We have little information on Prestet, priest, and "ci-devant Professeur des Mathématiques dans les Universités d'Angers et de Nantes." According to the privilege Printer, the first edition would appear in 1675.Nice specimen, slight sign of dampstain on some pages. 2 leaves of preface are posted at the end of the 2nd vol.
