An Exquisite Platinum & Diamond Cocktail Ring, by Cartier, London, circa 1946
Designed as a pair of stylised twin flower heads, each four claw-set with a cushion-shaped stone estimated to weigh approximately 0.8ct, within a surround of collet-set marquise-shaped and baguette diamonds, decorated with an “S” shaped tendril collet-set with pear and marquise-shaped stones, signature lost during re-sizing but individually numbered 6043
With original red leather and gilt embossed Ring box from Cartier, London
Total weight of diamonds approximately 5cts
Diamonds average H colour, VS2 clarity
Accompanied by original receipt, Cartier, New Bond Street, London, dated 9 March 1943

Footnote: Viscount Horne was a Scottish lawyer and politician who served in the Liberal Government of David Lloyd-George as Minister of Labour, President of the Board of Trade and Chancellor of the Exchequer between 1919 and 1922.
