Etruria, central Italy, ca. 600 to 400 BCE. A pretty and well-made example of a bronze wine strainer with a fun curved design on its bronze wire handle. These items were used to filter out the sediment when serving wine, a crucial tool, especially for ancient methods of wine making. Size: 5.3" W x 11.8" H (13.5 cm x 30 cm)

The circular pierced section (the actual strainer) is missing; there is slight damage/loss to the rim, near the handle, and the lower rim of the outlet hole
