Neil Winokur (American, b. 1945-), "Shoe"-1990, Cibachrome print, signed to verso. With gallery label to verso "Janet Borden Inc." (New York, New York). Photograph depicting a black high-heeled shoe on a saturated red ground. Framed approximately 30.5" x 40.5". Unframed approximately 30" x 40". Provenance: From the private collection of Jack Wieland, whereby acquired by the present owner at the Atlanta Celebrates Photography: Photography Auction, held on September 26, 2008 at the King Plow Arts Center (Atlanta, Georgia).Note: Neil Winokur's work is held in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He was included in MoMA's now-iconic 1991 exhibition "Pleasures and Terrors of Domestic Comfort".
