Description
Hiroshi Yoshida (Japanese, 1876-1959). "Avenue of Cherry Trees", woodblock in colors on paper, pencil titled lower left margin, pencil signed lower right margin, ink signature and jizuri seal mark lower right of matrix. Genre scene woodblock print in horizontal format depicting a village street in Japan with immense overhanging of pink cherry blossoms blooming from flanking trees set between storefronts hung with banners and merchandise including red lanterns. Framed approximately 12.75" x 18.5". Sight size approximately 10" x 15.25".
Condition
In order to preserve current condition, the piece has not been examined out of frame. Discoloration to sheet commensurate with sun exposure. Minor tear to lower left margin (less than 0.25"). Scattered creases and dings to sheet commensurate with age and handling.
