Of rectangular form, the lid with profuse applied bicolored gold and silver floral garlands, cornucopia, and urns, a lozenge shaped raised center with a giardinetto crested by and eagle, garland sides, the bronze lid interior a scenic engraving with an eagle. Layered steel annealed or pinned to bronze interior. 70 x 35 x 13 mm. 105.3 gs. (The armories of Tula were commissioned by Catherine the Great to make elaborate steel furniture and trinkets for her personal use or diplomatic gifts.)
