Description
A lobed drop pendant worked in high relief suspends from revolving bail. One side depicts a lotus seated priest and a carp, flanked by two dragons, the reverse an immortal and a fawn, flanked by two phoenix, with peony blossoms, parcel red patinated gold, at least 22k. Indistinct maker mark. 3 3/8" x 2 1/2". 44.4 dwt. Provenance: From the collection of Jay C. Leff. (The Fenghuang [phoenix] and dragon are symbols of high virtue and imperial power.)
Condition
Good condition, commensurate with age and reverential wear.
