[Kennedy Jacqueline] Mock-up for the 1961 White House gift print, hand signed by Jacqueline Kennedy in margin at lower left. Cecil Stoughton (the White House photographer) shot multiple photos in front of the White House fountains on the South Lawn. The printed illustration on the 1961 Christmas Print is derived from a different photograph, taken moments before or after the photograph which served as the basis for the printed illustration shown used in this mock-up. The final Christmas print showed more ducks, positioned closer to the photographer. Here, the ducks are positioned on the far side of the pool. Also, this illustration is from when the camera was positioned slightly upward as compared to the camera position reproduced for the Christmas Print. This mock-up does not have Jacqueline Kennedy’s printed “With our appreciation and best wishes…” inscription, and the hand signature is on the left side of the lower margin (as opposed to the right). 14 1/4 x 16 3/4 in. within mat.
