[Christmas/White House Prints] 18 Items, incl 15 White House Christmas prints (issued for 1963, 1964-1968, 1970, 1971, 1974-1976, 1982-1983, 1985, 1991 and a National Christmas Tree Association award to Rex Scouten (who was by then the White House Curator). Provenance: Rex Scouten Collection of White House Americana. Scouten served 10 Presidents from Truman to Clinton, including time as a Secret Service agent, Chief Usher of the White House, and White House Curator.
1985 is signed by Thomas William Jones below the print’s image (which is from a painting by Jones showing the White House Blue Room). Over a period of 3 days, Jones examined sketches of the Blue Room. “It was the only State Room she refurbished by adding furniture that had been kept in storage. It was also the room where she and the President received guests at Christmas and after State dinners…” -Seeley p168. Under glass. Not examined out of frames.
