[Photographs/Certificates/White House] 20 Items. Provenance: Rex Scouten Collection of White House Americana. Scouten served 10 Presidents from Truman to Clinton, including time as a Secret Service agent, Chief Usher of the White House, and White House Curator.
++ United States Treasury Department Pistol Expert certificate issued to Scouten Oct. 21, 1957. Scouten worked at the Secret Service in the late 1940s and again from 1953-57 when he was assigned to protect Vice President Richard Nixon. Secret Service is part of the Treasury Department. ++ Color photograph of 10 White House staff (one in a chef’s hat) with 5 trophies. Signed on mount below image by each staffer shown (John Sowers, Elmo Webb, Eugene C. Allen, Ben Harrison, Wilford Frame, John L. Pelkey, and 4 others). ++ Photograph of the White House entrance. (“9 SE 74…” number on back of mount.) ++ Large color press photo of the wedding of Lynda Bird Johnson and Chuck Robb.
