William Mason Brown was part of the Hudson River School's second generation of artists. He is known for his trompe l’oeil still-lifes, and his paintings have been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
