American Aesthetic Movement Giltwood Pedestal/Plant Stand, late 19th/early 20th century, the figured onyx top over a frieze mounted with leonine masques, on fluted legs joined by arched brackets, an upholstered low shelf and carved paw feet, h. 37-3/4", w. 14-1/4", d. 14-1/4".

In overall good condition. It is tight and structurally sound. The onyx top is in generally good condition save a chip on its bottom edge, extending up about 1/4" high x 3/8" by 1/4". The piece retains substantial elements of old, presumably original gilt, with scattered scratches, mars, wear and inpainting. The latter includes an area that looks like painted filler just above one on the leg capitals.
