Description
A pair of early twentieth century silver candlesticks in Georgian style, each with filled octagonal sided base rising to a knopped stem and removable plain circular nozzle, hallmarked Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd., Sheffield 1918. Matched with a pair of late nineteenth century silver candelabra tops, each with twin branches, conforming shape sockets and nozzles and a central flame finial, hallmarked Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co (William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman), Sheffield 1892, one nozzle hallmarked London 1892, same maker, and the flame finials also with part London hallmarks. Maximum height measuring 11 inches (28 cm).
Condition
All parts display some general wear, tarnishing, surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age. A few minor dints. A couple of small holes in flame finials. The candelabra tops are quite a loose fit to the candlesticks. Hallmarks are mostly legible but there is some rubbing and distortion. Hallmarked to all removable parts.
