This gorgeous necklace features an Amy Kahn Russell Pin/Pendant with Baule lost wax-cast brass and copper amulets with a Chinese coin, accented with copper and matte citrine cabochons. The pendant is 3 3/8 inches long by 1 1/4 inch wide, and features Amy's fine quality bezel mount, “STERLING” and “AKR” hallmark. The necklace, 18 inches long without the pendant, is 8mm honey jade with sterling s-hook clasp. The pendant may be removed from the necklace and worn as a pin. The necklace may be shortened at buyer's request as a custom order at no additional cost. The Baule are one of the largest ethnic groups in the Cote d'Ivoire. Such works were made using the lost-wax casting method, in which a clay mold was made around a modeled wax form. The mold was then heated and the wax poured out, after which molten brass or other metal was poured in and solidified in the form of the original wax model.
