Description
The influential article from the North Carolina University Magazine, where Dr. Phillips concluded that John McKnitt Alexander had admitted to having reconstructed the text of the Mecklenburg Declaration from memory in 1800. The argument that the Mecklenburg Declaration is a flawed version of the Mecklenburg Resolves was first made in 1853 by Charles Phillips, D.D., L.L.D., a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Offered together with NY 1905 edition of The Mecklenburg Declaration by George W. Graham.
