Item Details

Description

This is an old and fascinating object from the Dogon peoples of Mali, West Africa. This janus form headrest features two Horse head finials along the sides of a deeply scooped head rest block. Carved wood with deep well handled patina and some obvious age and handling. The head rest measures 5 x 4 x 15 inches from end to end.
