The Fine Chinese Nephrite jade expertly carved into a globular deep vessel, raised on splayed concave foot base. with domed lid supporting the phoenix shaped finial. Two phoenix spreading its wings flanked under the rim creates handles, with each beak grasping branch of flowering lotus. The central body exterior characterized with relief of lotus petals radiating around the vessel. Elegantly displayed upon a carved lapis-lazuli base with further lotus petal motif. The Nephrite jade shows smooth carving, finely polished vessel, clean white tone translucent, with hints of celadon iridescent. The lapis lazuli stone displayed rich blue color with sporadic silver and golden-brown inclusions.

Acquired by a private collector in Europe at a charity fund raising auction that was hosted by a prominent business leader from the Frederiksberg Denmark area.
