Description

Chinese Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze seated Bodhisattva, figure of seated Padmasambhava Buddha on tall pedestal with 3 demountable attributes.
Padmasambhava (Tibetan: pema Jung ne. English: the Lotus Born): the Main Founder of Tibetan Buddhism together with His Eight Manifestations.
With a steady composure gazing on all beings, the gilt face adorned with a moustache and goatee, with turquoise inlaid urna between the eyebrows. The right hand holds an upright demountable gold vajra. The left hand placed in the lap holds a gilt cup. The gilt ornate katvanga staff of a Vajrayana mendicant the left shoulder. The head is covered with a lotus hat, a gift of the King of Zahor, of silk brocade topped with a half-vajra and a single vulture feather, and adorned with turquoise inlaid on the center. Attired in various robes of different patterns reflecting the disciplines of the Vinaya, Bodhisattva and Mantra Vehicles, he sits atop a ovoid lotus throne raised on tall stem pedestal supported with two serpent like deities.
The gilt attributes, katvanga staff, cup, and vajra are demountable.
Underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra gilt mark surrounding the centralized DaiJi.

Dimension: 14" H

Condition

Over all in EXCELLENT condition. With normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dents. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. . Normal, consider ages and wear.
