Gorgeous portion of Chinese Green jade, carved from a single boulder unto straight cylindrical hollow vessel with flat opening and base, raised on five ruyi shaped squat legs.
The exterior expertly carved depicted group of elderly sages and attendants traversing on their path between rocky outcrop and dense of shading forest trees within mountainous landscape in deep relief, alternately on verso panel, of pavilions along waterside scenery in gilt. The carving is exquisite, deep and smooth, dark-spinach-green color, with darker sporadic tones and moist milky appearance. A portion of this high-grade green Jade is considered quite rare. Expert workmanship is the absolute highlight of this extraordinary brush pot.
