Inscribed in German by the author opposite the title page, dated 25.XI.1969. Konrad Zacharias Lorenz was an Austrian zoologist, ethologist, and ornithologist. He shared the 1973 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Nikolaas Tinbergen and Karl von Frisch. Lorenz studied instinctive behavior in animals, especially in greylag geese and jackdaws. Signed works by Lorenz are quite scarce.

Condition

Light wear and rubbing to cloth, clear plastic cover adhered to cloth; dampstain to small area of top corner of early pages, not affecting text, owner's name stamped at top of front pastedown; very good.
