English, first half 19th century. A Regency period tortoiseshell tea caddy of oval form, having domed top inlaid with spider web patterned silver piping, with braided silver bordering throughout, with hinge opening, stamped to underside "2". Overall approximately 4" x 7.125" x 5".

Condition

Wear commensurate with age and use. Minor denting to interior lid. Some tarnishing to silver. Expected wear to interior lip. Some minor shelf wear and denting to bottom. Minor area of inpainting to top. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
