Description
Chinese, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). A fine, diminutive patinated and gilt bronze tripod censor with dome-shaped pierced lid surmounted with foo dog finial, the patinated melon shaped body mounted to each side with foo dog masks (lacking rings) and six quatrefoil shaped cartouches decorated with raised relief including foliage, birds and a leaping horse, the whole raised on three legs. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 4.75".
Condition
Some minor tarnishing to gilt, and some minor surface wear overall. Residue to interior from use. Scratching to undersides of feet. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
