Description
Attributed to R.J. Horner & Co, late 19th century. A Victorian Aesthetic movement maple bed having a simulated bamboo headboard and footboard with turned upright supports, turned finials and raised decoration along with matching side rails; the whole edged in simulated bamboo. Approximate height 48.5", width 57", depth (exterior) 78.5", depth (interior) 73.5".
Condition
Wear commensurate with age and use. Some old scratching and denting that has darkened with time, and some old abrasions. Warping to both interior and exterior of head and foot boards, with some cracking. Areas of losses of veneer. One finial with old loss, large split to one leg/ Some seam separation. Despite wear, has a very nice look overall. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
