CORNELIUS & CO. BRASS SOLAR STAND LAMP, gilded finish, pyriform font with applied maker's label, tri-form stem with heavy ornamentation of acanthus leaves and scrolls, Fitted with original shade ring and chimney fastening ring, electrified burner, colorless and frosted turban-form shade intricately cut and engraved with punties, stars, panels and interlocking bands, and unpatterned tri-form colorless prisms. Circa 1851. 24 1/2" H to top of shade, 16" H to top of collar. Shade 10 1/4" H, 6 1/8" D fitter.
Very good overall condition, font with expected wear and drilled thru base, moderate wear to gilt. Shade undamaged, burner lacking components, prisms with expected imperfections and one with damage.
