Description
An Egyptian 2nd Intermediate Period steatite scarab. It was carved from milky-white steatite which is a form of soapstone. Inscribed on the flat face of the scarab are Egyptian symbols representing two uraei (Egyptian Cobras), two Uzat eyes, the Horus falcon, two scrolls, and two signs signifying the Crown of Lower Egypt. L: 1.5 cm. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
