Northern Qi Dynasty, 550-577 AD. A terracotta figure of a soldier, standing and wearing a small cap; long robes down to feet and long sleeves covering the hands and falling to knees; hole to top of hands for insertion of weapon; painted details to the face and areas of the robes. 294 grams, 20.5cm (8"). Private collection, North London; acquired in the early 1990s.
