DESCRIPTION: Ansonia slate mantle clock. Black slate case with incised carvings upon paw feet with lion head masqueron handles. Porcelain dial with Roman numerals and gilt brass bezel and open escapement. Eight day brass movement with time and strike. Movement is marked "Ansonia Clock Co. Patented June 14 1882 New York, U.S.A.". MEASUREMENTS: 13-1/2" tall x 11" wide. CONDITION: Runs. Hairline cracks to dial at winding holes, 3, 6, and 9. Minor patina and wear as expected with age and use.
