Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru (North Coast), Moche Culture, ca. 100 to 700 CE. A group of eleven metal discs, made of tumbaga (gold and copper alloy), with two of them lacking a center hole but having a slightly convex shape. These items were finely made by Moche artisans to be sewn onto the clothing of nobles and royalty. Comes in custom framed box. Size of largest disc: 2.4" W (6.1 cm); size of frame: 12.15" W x 8.1" H (30.9 cm x 20.6 cm).
