Description
BUFFALO POTTERY DELDARE TANKARD PITCHERS, LOT OF TWO, both having octagonal, panelled body with high spout and molded handle, polychrome designs of "Welcomed me with most cordial hospitality / To demand my annual Rent", artist signed by "L. Newman", and "Go spare an old broken soldier / Go advise me in a whisper" with illegible artist's initials. One having black printed mark on base with Buffalo over sign reading "MADE AT / ye / BUFFALO / POTTERY / DELDARE WARE / UNDERGLAZE / 1908" and painted "29.", one with same print and 1909. Buffalo, New York. Early 20th century. 7 3/4" H.
