Description
COORS POTTERY CERAMIC VASES, LOT OF FOUR, all with a matte blue exterior glaze and off-white interior glaze; one with embossed floral or leaf and berry design on shoulder; one with embossed Greek key design between the handles. Marked on base "COORS / Pottery / Golden / Colorado". Coors Porcelain Company, Golden, Colorado. Circa 1925. 5" to 6" H.
Undamaged with some scuff marks and some staining, particularly on interior off-white glaze.
Provenance: Collection of Jim Lawrence and Denver Smallwood, Chattanooga, TN.
Catalogue Note: The Coors Porcelain Company was established under the direction of the sons of Adolph Coors of Coors Brewing when they took over the Herold China and Pottery Company during the prohibition. When prohibition was repealed in 1933, the Coors family continued pottery production and eventually became the CoorsTek of industrial ceramics it is today.
