AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART WINTER LANDSCAPE PAINTING, oil on poplar panel, naïve depiction of a farm house and grounds, possibly a New England scene, signed "S W" lower right, executed on a period sliding cover for box retaining original pasted label for "OSWEGO SILVER-GLOSS STARCH" and extensive penciled inscriptions, including "Squire William Stout" and "Zepheniah Stout". Housed in a period, possibly original, black-painted frame. Second half 19th century. 6" x 11" sight, 10 5/8" x 15 3/4" OA.
