AMERICAN SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART PAINTING, oil on academy board, an energetic depiction of a racing horse's head, no signature located, retains printed merchant's label pasted verso "ACADEMY BOARD / F. W. DEVOE & CO. / NEW YORK" and old penciled framing notations for a "Mrs. Vandecarr". Housed in a period molded giltwood frame. Fourth quarter 19th century. 16" x 24 1/2" sight, 18" x 26" OA.
