AMERICAN, POSSIBLY SOUTHERN, SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN, oil on canvas, seated figure sporting ringlets and rose in her hair, wearing black dress with white lace collar and cuffs, matching earrings and brooch, and two diamond rings, said to be a Louisiana sitter, no signature located, retains two labels verso for Hudson & Salah Art Conservation Studios, New Orleans, LA. Housed in a period giltwood frame. Circa 1870. 30" x 25" sight, 38" x 33" OA.
Very good visual condition with scattered craquelure, lined during conservation. Wear to frame, possibly re-painted.
