O'CONNELL DANIEL: (1775-1847) Irish Political Leader. A.L.S., Daniel O'Connell, one page, 4to, Cork, 18th August 1822, to James Luquer (?) of Dublin ('My dear James'). O'Connell sends his correspondent the remaining halves of the £10 and continues 'I beg of you to arrange with Charles McCarthy that the passage money for Maurice and the carriage should be paid on my arrival in Dublin', further instructing 'Let Maurice have his twelve guineas clear in his pocket….I entrust all to your kind and affectionate attention'. With integral address leaf in O'Connell's hand and with a red wax seal. A large area of paper loss to the integral leaf, only very slightly affecting the address panel. Some light age wear, otherwise VG
