Item Details
Description
Blauweißes Porcelain, China. Ming-dynasty, Wanli (1573-1619)

This bowl has typical, unmistakable characteristics of the above-stated period, among which is the so-called “chatter mark” on the bottom. Curved walls, the mouth with multiple lobes. Painted on the outside of the walls are four oval reserves, dividing lines and blossoms. Inside, at the bottom of the well is a literati sitting before a shanshui-landscape. On the walls are four lobed reserves with fruits and blossoms inside. On the lip are similar motifs as well as wan-symbols and the swastika as a symbol of good luck. Very good, original condition.
