French, late 19th century. A Louis XVI neoclassical style trumeau mirror, polychromed white and rectangular in form, having a molded cornice over an oval shaped roundel, painted in grisaille against a red background depicting Venus rising out of the sea, surrounded by an acanthine border, over a rectangular mirrored panel with a inner fluted border, the whole edged in a dot and dash border. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 91", width 49.5", depth 2.25".
